DETROIT (AP) — Captain Nicklas Lidstrom‘s nose was broken by a puck, and he is listed as day to day by the Detroit Red Wings’ training staff.
Lidstrom was hit by a shot and was helped off the ice Wednesday night during an exhibition game against Montreal.
The 38-year-old Lidstrom won his sixth Norris Trophy as the NHL‘s top defenseman after hoisting the Stanley Cup for the fourth time with the Red Wings. He led all defensemen with 70 points and a plus-40 rating.
